Large 18th century Saxon glass engraved and illustrated with a motto

Large glass, the baluster stem with facetted bulb as well as the bottom of the tumbler. It is engraved with a motto in Old German: ‘Wolelb st Fortuna muss die brust zum Hautpzweck geben daschiest ein munterer herr gewisslichnicht darneben’ ("Yes, the goddess Fortuna must stretch out her bosom to serve the main purpose. A man full of life would certainly not miss this). This motto surmounts a scene depicting a hunter aiming at the chest of the goddess Fortuna in a medallion framed by foliage and foliage.
