A Japanese bronze sculpture depicting a majestic rooster, created by Yoneji Ichi (1896-1986), a renowned master of animal sculpture. A graduate of the Tokyo School of Fine Arts, Yoneji established himself in Takaoka, a city famous for its bronze craftsmanship. He specialized in animal representations, a field in which he excelled, as evidenced by his impressive array of awards throughout his career. In 1920, two of his works were presented to the Emperor of Japan, a rare honor that highlights the exceptional quality of his artistry.
This rooster stands out for its elegant proportions and meticulous attention to detail, hallmarks of Yoneji’s style. Every element, finely crafted with a beautiful patina, reflects a meticulous dedication to realism while adhering to Japanese aesthetic principles.
