The painting is in excellent condition.
The large panel has been professionally consolidated by means of parquetry carried out in Florence.
The pictorial surface has also been fixed.
This very elegant large panel from the 15th century depicts Saint Barbara seated on a throne showing her iconographic attributes. Her left hand holds the tower and her right hand on her chest with the palm of martyrdom. The Saint is portrayed full-length in a solemn pose at the centre of the scene. The drapes that fall from the corners to her sides increase the Protagonist's regality. The painting is extremely elegant with a chromatic range of rare refinement and a perfectly calibrated combination of shades.
The Author transfers onto the panel his propensity towards the fresco technique to which he is certainly accustomed. The result is really very pleasant and the work has a great effect on the wall.
