Porcelain plate decorated with a white swan standing in a watery landscape on a Nanjing background framed by a Greek frieze in gold in a central medallion, surrounded by a garland of gilded foliage. On the wing several white swans spread their wings over an expanse of water alternating with gorse on a Nanjing background. On the wing a number of white swans spread their wings over an expanse of water alternating with gorse on a Nanking background.
Marked on the reverse in gold ‘SCHOELCHER’.
