Carved embracing loves - 17th century Flanders

Sculpture in oak with black patina.
Our sculpture features two seated putti (or loves) embracing in a gesture of tenderness rarely seen in Baroque sculpture.
These two embracing loves, which probably originally had their counterparts, were designed to adorn a chapel. Their position has been studied so that they sit in the corner of an entablature, as shown in the photographs.
