GERMANY attributed to Bayreuth
A very rare earthenware baluster vase with a brown-red lacquered base decorated in light relief in polychrome on one side with two Chinese figures standing on a mound. One waving a standard, the other holding a basket filled with fruit. On the other side, a bouquet of roses, tulips, lily of the valley and cornflowers surrounded by two bees; the whole framed at the base and neck by friezes of lambrequin.
18th century
Height 20.5 cm
We see very little of this small production which, like Berlin and Hanau, was inspired by the creations of the Delft manufactures.
