The heavy bronze ring is decorated with hieroglyphs citing the name of Akhenaten, within a finely incised border.

English collection, formed in the 1980’s.
Akhenaten ascended to the throne of Egypt around 1353 or 1351 BCE and ruled for approximately 17 years during the 18th dynasty of the New Kingdom. He is most renowned among modern scholars for establishing a new religion focused on the worship of Aten.
