Mikhail Larionov (att.) 1881 – 1964. Rayonist nude

Mikhail Larionov, the life companion of Natalia Goncharova was a founder of the Russian avant-garde before emigrating to France.
This picture was painted in Paris (canvas marked on the back) and could represent the sitter of a portrait by Natalia Goncharova, (123, Sotheby’s 27 Nov. 2018): the hair implantation and pendent are very similar.
There is, as of today, no extant expert on Mikhail Larionov and in the past, attributions were often disputed. This canvas is consequently sold as "attributed to" despite the significant evidence of authorship: style and sitter.
