A large pear-shaped silver jug or coffee maker, decorated with palmettes, heart-shaped rays and an ebony handle finished with an ivory button carved with a rosette.

Hallmarks:
Paris, 1st title 1798-1809 (first rooster).
Average guarantee.
Master silversmith: Martin-Guillaume Biennais, hallmark inscribed in 1801 (Year IX).

Martin-Guillaume Biennais is the most famous silversmith during the Empire period, supplier to the Crown and to all the great foreign Courts.
