Rare pair of glazed terracotta finials, with a cylindrical base and a crown of buttons and foliage topped by a bouquet of multiple buttons. The accumulation of buttons in open or closed bunches links these finials to the very characteristic production of the Lamballe potters' guild, active from the year 1000 until the abolition of privileges in 1789. A similar set of finials, heavier because of its later date, can be found in the collections of the Musée de la Bretagne in Renne, dating from the end of the 18th century. The lower crowns are missing two buttons on one and three on the other. Dimensions: height 52 and 53cm-width 24 and 25cm.
