Jean BEAUDUIN 1851-1916
Belgian painter who spent most of his career in France.
Painter of genre scenes, portraits, landscapes, draughtsman and illustrator.
He began his career in his native country at the Antwerp Academy.
He soon moved to Paris.
He was present at all the Salons of his day.
His favorite subject, which won over the collectors of his time, is a beautiful young girl in a flower garden at the end of the day.
He mastered the soft luminosity of a late day like no other, highlighting the skin of his belle and the vivid colors of the flowers.
Critics of the time praised his luminous works, imbued with a lively poetic feeling, and denoting a fine sensitivity, combined with great qualities of harmony and composition.
