This delightful pair of gilded bronze sconces was made in France around the end of the 19th century in the Regency style. Finely chiselled they are composed of a central part trimmed with a lambrequin frieze adorned with leafy elements, volutes and phytomorphic elements that fall on the sides. In the center there is a head with a windmill with a crown adorned with pearls and framed by volutes and turns and two large leaves. In the lower part, from a “baccellato” ring, some acanthus leaves descend. Above the female head there are three wavy arms on which anthropomorphic figures are grafted and from which originate the important reels richly chiselled with plant ornaments and geometric patterns. The gilding is made of matt gold and polished gold, finished with agate stone.
These sconces, very refined, are very decorative thanks to the richness of the ornaments and the brightness given by the gilding. They are suitable in different environments, both contextualized between antique furniture and modern, which will bring warmth and preciousness.
