A boxwood sculpture of Saint Catherine of Alexandria.
German, late 16th century.
The crowned Saint stands defiantly clutching the bible in one hand and her sword in the other, the tip of which rests upon the severed head of her oppressor, the Emperor Maxentius.
Measures 16cm high.
