Hemispherical in shape, it is an impressive pair of large Satsuma earthenware vases decorated with Bijin (Japanese beauties) with children in a garden, walking, or even picnicking, under the red maples, a sign of the arrival of autumn. On the other side, on the terrace of a pavilion, dignitaries and children examine a scroll. All the characters are very finely and richly decorated with gold and polychrome enamels. The cartouches are divided by vertical bands in the style of silk brocades.
