Pupil of the famous Baron Gérard, exhibited at the Salon from 1801 to 1819.
His popularity was such that he was nicknamed

He was so popular that he was nicknamed "the painter of flowers and fruit for the crown's furniture repository".

This administration was responsible for managing the paintings and furniture destined to adorn the royal residences.
François-Nicolas LAURENT,
produced highly polished, meticulous and subtle works,
reminiscent of the influence of Flemish painters.

His large oil paintings depict luxurious bouquets set against a marble entablature.

His watercolours are inspired by botanical plates.
They offer the viewer all the delicacy that this technique allows.
