Pretty 18th century refreshment stand decorated with two lions' heads at the ends. The feet are shaped like lions' claws.
The coolers were placed on a console along the wall of the reception room. Until the end of the 18th century, it was not customary to have glasses at the table.
Glass coolers prevented a sudden change in temperature between the glass and the wine. The host took care to cool the glasses before serving the fresh wines to the guests.
