Painter of the Barbizon school He was a pupil of Corot, Daubigny and Bonnat at the École des Beaux-Arts.
Our painting is dated 1882
He exhibited landscapes from 1875. Gold medal (Exposition Universelle 1889). Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur in 1893; member of the Jury, hors-concours in 1900.
In 1890, Damoye was one of the founders of the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts.
He was a member of the committee of this important artistic group.
Damoye was one of the best continuators of the tradition of his masters Corot and Daubigny.
His paintings are elegant, fine and radiant, with a light touch and beautiful panoramic views.
