A marble bust depicting a Woman with lily flowers in her hair and a base decorated with lily pads. The present model has been presented by the artist at the Paris Salon of 1899.
The French sculptor Georges Charles Coudray (Paris 1883 - 1932)
The Sculpture is signed "George Coudray" standing for Georges Charles Coudray, the French sculptor. Coudray was born in Paris. His teachers were the famous sculptors Falguière, Allouard and Thomas.
Coudray is known for his oriental-inspired statues, busts and medallions that he exhibited at the Paris Salons from 1883 to 1903. Among his best known works are: Tahoser (1892), Les Nénuphars (1899), Iris (1902).
