Offered by Le jardin des Moines
By its size, the quality of its gilding and the richness of its decorations, it is an exceptional liturgical object. With a height of 102 cm and a width of 52 cm, placed on a quadrilobed base measuring 25 cm by 25 cm, this is a model of a cathedral. In gilded bronze it was executed by the master Parisian goldsmiths Jules Jamain and Eugène Chevron between 1865 and 1879.
On its base are four representations of the evangelists framing the birth of the monstrance.
The bow is decorated with bead cabochons, colored beads that are found several times on this piece. On the front and back, a fine work of bronze lace with eucharistic decorations surrounds the Glory which is decorated with eight (the figure of Christ) cherubim, set with blue enamel roundels.
It has its vermeil lunula, hallmark of the same goldsmiths, with a diameter of 8.5 cm.
Excellent condition with lunula and its original box.
