This rare covered pitcher with handle is made of milk glass decorated with enamel ornaments and the attributes of the farrier guild
Flühli (Switzerland), 18th century
Crowned initals H.G. / A.H. between palms.
Nail, pincers and buttress on one side, shoeing hammer, hoof and clinch cutter (?) on the other.
A similar milk glass pitcher bearing the attributes of the butcher guild, but without its cover (replaced by metal mounts), is preserved in Musée Ariana in Geneva (inv. G 0387).
