*Fidelys Schey is a cabinetmaker who received his master's degree in Paris on February 5, 1777.
Born in Germany in the Duchy of Baden, this prolific cabinetmaker, despite the relative brevity of his career, settled on rue de Faubourg Saint-Antoine and opened, near his workshop, a sales store which he entrusted to his wife.
We know that in 1786 he supplied gaming tables for the Château de Fontainebleau.
He died on July 28, 1788.
For a decade, he produced a multitude of Transition and especially Louis XVI furniture, including chests of drawers, secretaries and numerous tables.
Its production is of high quality while being very sober, with a preference for monochrome veneers highlighted with sycamore fillets.
