The painting lover) Charles Pecrus 1826-1907. Genre painter, portraits and landscapes, born February 26, 1826 in Limoges, died in Paris in 1907. Trained at the School of Fine Arts, he exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1857, where his paintings achieved great success. His painting “The Day After the Wedding” was purchased at the 1865 salon by Napoleon III, who offered it to his wife Empress Eugénie. He exhibited in Paris from 1857 to 1907. Present in many museums (pic museum in New York, Paris-Louvre etc... Oil on canvas signed lower left, bears an old exhibition label. Sale in Paris on May 12, 1937 under the title “the painting lover.” Dimensions: with frame: height, 90cm width, 70cm, Without frame: height, 63 cm width 43 cm.
