Louis Majorelle - "Poule d'eau" Art Nouveau display cabinet

Rare asymmetrical cabinet in solid mahogany and satin-finish mahogany veneer.
It opens with an inlaid door depicting a moorhen, four niches and a compartmentalized locker.
The high shelf on the right-hand side has a rounded overhang and is supported by a spiral-carved upright. The sides are openworked at the top and feature carved columns, and the plinth has a scalloped cut-out.
Original ormolu keyhole and key.
High-quality marquetry and superb patina!
