Hendrick Mommers , genre and landscape painter, born in Haarlem around 1623 and buried in Amsterdam on December 21, 1693.
A member of his hometown guild, he visited Italy and worked in Rome, leaving us mainly Italianate landscapes, pastoral scenes and market scenes in the style of Berchem and Cuyp. Seduced by the French capital, he painted several "Views of Paris", and his Parisian landscapes are mentioned in the inventories of 1653 and 1687.
