A very finely detailed and stylized bronze sculpture of a pair of ducks on a marble plinth. Signed C. Brasch. In terms of approach and style, this work is modern and somewhat reminiscent of François Pompon's later work.
Carl August Brasch (1866-1938) German sculptor.
He was the son of Leipzig portrait painter Friedrich August Brasch. After secondary school, Carl Brasch attended the Leipzig Academy of Art. He then also went to the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin. From 1893, he lived in Berlin, where he married in 1911 and died in 1938.
