REQUEST INFORMATION
This large composition represents many of the fetiches of the artist, and his tools. Dated 1936 to 1969, the piece was framed by the artist (order visible on the back) and painted over while framed. This may be a form of visual testament.
We can find:
- The tools of the sculptor (he started sculpting in 1930): Compass and meter
- His three fetiches, drawn or painted over and over since 1910: The mammoth tooth, the crystals and the conch.
- One of the many masks he drew, painted or sculpted.
