Offered by La Crédence
Very large oil on canvas depicting Cupid asleep, with probably Psyche looking on.
An inscription in the lower right, difficult to read, speaks of Psyche and her two sisters (the two women represented in the lower left?).
Signed Antoine Marie RAYNOLT, circa 1925-1930.
Born in 1874 in Toulouse, landscape painter, illustrator and decorator, he was a pupil of Benjamin Constant and Jean Paul Laurens. A member of the Artistes Français since 1905, he appeared at the Salon of this group and won distinctions in 1897 and 1902.
