A gold ring with an enamelled heraldic crest of a horse.
English, late 19th century.
Ring size L UK / 5.75 US.
The bezel measures 3.8 x 2cm.
The navette shaped bezel is decorated with a vibrant blue enamel ground upon which is the heraldic head of a white horse with two inlaid gold horseshoes above its head and one beneath. The reverse of the bezel is marked ’18’ denoting 18 carat gold.
The ring is in fine, original and unrestored condition.
Provenance: By repute owned by Jane Morris (c.1839 - 1914).
