Elegant Swedish console from the Gustavian period in gilded wood with Egyptian heads, top in red Alvdalen porphyry, Kåtila variety
attributed to Jonas Frisk, active in Stockholm 1805-1824
The belt and overhanging top decorations bear witness to the primitive Gustavian style, faithful to the aesthetics of French Louis XVI
The paired mirror, with a lyre motif, a little later from the Carl-Gustave period, is in excellent condition and complements the console nicely.
The set, although imposing, gives off an impression of lightness in the classic rigor
the Console 105x54cm H 92cm
the Mirror 195x 65cm
