A large console table in carved and gilded oak, with a movement characteristic of the symmetrical style that heralded the classical revival.
Its four double-cambered legs are adorned at the top with a large ribbed shell supporting the marble, acanthus leaves and a scrolled bottom.
The central crosspiece, with its nervous, stretched, leafy lines, is carved in the center with a large openwork cartouche featuring a flowering basket. The sides are decorated with foliage.
Aleppo marble top in perfect condition.
This model can be compared with designs by Pierre Contant D'Ivry ( 1698- 1777)
