There are many representations of holy bishops in Christian art and iconography. These saints occupy an important place in the history of the Church and are rightly considered models of piety and humility.Their representation, which is just as frequent, therefore aims to honor their memory and inspire the faithful. There are a large number of bishops among the Saints of the liturgical calendar. Our bishop bust is in solid wood, carved, gilded and polychromed.
It bears a gilded dalmatic with flower motifs and rests on a foliated console reliquary which contains an important relic.
