Victor CHARRETON (1864-1936)
In 1903, he co-founded the Salon d'Automne with painter Bonnard.
His success was rapid, and his reputation quickly spread beyond the salon circuit.
He was awarded the Légion d'honneur as a painter in 1914.
He also studied conservation techniques.
This research led to the discovery of painting on "finette", a fluffy fabric that enhanced the vaporous character of his paintings.
He received numerous medals:
honorable mention in 1910,
silver medal in 1912,
gold medal in 1913.
He took part in exhibitions throughout France, as well as in Geneva, New York and Japan.
His paintings can be found in many museums.
