Saint Sebastian is one of the most represented martyrs in art.
A Roman martyr, he lived in the 3rd century.

A career soldier under Diocletian and Maximian, he was executed for supporting his fellow believers in their faith and performing several miracles.

First tied to a post and pierced with arrows (this is how he is portrayed by artists), he was finally killed with a rod after having miraculously healed the first time.
