Head of a young monk in walnut carved in the round. Tonsured skull with a crown of wavy hair, eyes with hemmed eyelids, fine, straight nose, tight mouth and long neck. Rhône Valley?, second half of the 16th century. On a wooden stand. Condition: small xylophagi holes, small part of back of skull missing. Beautiful warm patination of the wood.
