This very beautiful portrait by the quality of execution and of course the choice of the model can be dated around 1810 (until 1820). On the frame a mark of Maison Momper Paris, a restoration and relining house active in Paris between 1843 and 1888. A label indicates Portrait de Boily, Prudhon which must date from this intervention by the Parisian Maison. This label is enigmatic because it is not a painting by Boilly or a portrait representing the painter Prudhon, nor the reverse for that matter. It is difficult to attribute it with certainty but it is also complicated not to think of Anne Louis Girodet and François Xavier Fabre.
