Edo cabinet in Japanese black lacquered wood with Japanese decor of lake landscapes, architecture, pagodas and hunting scenes.
The scenes are surrounded by a black frieze on a gilt background on the front and gilt on a black background on the sides.
This cabinet opens on the front with two doors, revealing ten drawers, one of which is large in the upper part. They are all decorated with landscapes and each consist of gilded bronze handles ending in stars.
The interior of the doors and the top of the cabinet are represented by birds.
It rests on a rear base also in black lacquer, with four square legs ending in golden scrolls at their lower ends.
The inside of the base and the side bars are marked by a golden border.
Falls and hinges of the doors in gilded bronze. Two gilt bronze handles on either side of the cabinet ending in stylized gilt bronze flowers.
Embossed decoration of stylized leaves on the door hinges and the central lock, also ornamented with stylized symbols and stars.
