Large vase, Johann Loetz Witwe, Medici Maron or PG 2/484 decoration, ca. 1902
The decor variant Medici or Phenomen Gre 2/484 was very successful for the Loetz company. The combination of strongly shimmering silver oxide tongues and bright colours met the taste of their customers precisely.
What is striking about this vase is the contrast between the strong, dynamic iridescence and the classic, simple shape. The shape of the decoration is reminiscent of petals, which gives this vase a very naturalistic aura.
