F.G. Meijer and A. van der Willigen, A Dictionary of Dutch and Flemish Still-Life painters working in oils 1525-1725, Leiden 2003, p. 36.
Described by DR F Meijer and van der Willigen as "an extremely prolific still-life", this is the largest recorded painting by the Amsterdam painter Claes Bergois. The rarity of the work is compounded by its landscape format, which was tackled very few times by the artist.
