Probably an enthroned bishop. Southern France or northern Spain ca1300. Pine. Weathered and losses (both arms …). Still very strong presence. Hieratic pose and simple M-shaped folds of his robe indicate an early age. Overall remains of painted preparation layer (especially in the face and on the hat). The sculpture has some sort of intriguing tribal connotation. Dimensions (without stand): 60x15x10cm
