A "Römer" glass - 17th century - Germany

A römer (also spelled roemer, according to the German denomination corresponding to "Roman") is a traditional Central European glass, often used for wine. It has its origins in the manufacture of glass using potassium carbonate from the central Middle Ages to modern times.
At the time, glass products were generally greenish, due to the presence of ferrous oxides.

Provenance: collection "Korf de Gidts - Amsterdam - Netherlands".

Excellent condition, barely used with minimal signs of use.
