Belgian sculptor Georges Van der STRAETEN was born in Ghent on December 22, 1856 and died in the same city on July 25, 1941. a student of G.Kasteleyn and J.Lambeaux, he moved to Paris in 1883 where he became friends with J.Van Beer and R.Wouters. He exhibited there until 1912
