Very rare circular plate in ROUEN faience decorated in polychrome (inspired by Chinese porcelain treated with famille rose enamels) of a rooster standing on a pierced rock surrounded by peonies, the border in "niélé ocher". Marked NL on the reverse in blue.
First half of the 18th century, around 1740
Bears the label of the Bisset collection on the reverse (sale of May 25, 1965)
About twenty known examples, some of which are in French museums.
